SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Cramlington
Salary: £75 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary school in Cramlington, providing essential support to young learners.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with children who require additional support in managing their emotions, behaviour, and learning. Your role will make a real difference to their educational experience and personal development.
Responsibilities as a SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary):
- Support students with SEMH needs in a primary school setting.
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to aid learning and development.
- Help create a safe and nurturing environment for students.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement behaviour strategies.
- Support with classroom management and ensure students stay on task.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
To be a successful SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary), you need:
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations.
- A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
