Job Title: EYFS Learning Support Assistant
Location: Colchester
Salary: £80 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are excited to invite applications for the role of Learning Support Assistant to work with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) students in a nurturing school in Colchester. This role is ideal for someone who is driven to support the youngest learners as they embark on their educational journey.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant for EYFS, you will provide tailored support to young children, helping them to develop the foundational skills necessary for their future education. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and stimulating learning environment that fosters growth and development.

Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to EYFS students, ensuring that all children are engaged and able to participate in activities.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate lessons and activities, following the EYFS framework.
  • Help to create a safe and welcoming classroom environment where children feel valued and secure.
  • Support the development of children's social, emotional and academic skills through interactive and play-based learning.
  • Monitor and record children's progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and manage challenging situations in a calm and supportive manner.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff to ensure that the needs of all children are met.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in EYFS education.

Learning Support Assistant Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting is advantageous.
  • A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or a related field is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young children.
  • Patience, creativity and a caring nature, with a genuine passion for early years education.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to the needs of the students and the school.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
