Science Technician
Location: Lewisham
Salary: £85 - £110 per day
Start Date: January 2025
Contract: Long Term

GSL Education London are looking for a dedicated Science Technician to join a vibrant team at a client secondary school in Lewisham. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a laboratory setting and is committed to enhancing the educational experience of students.
Responsibilities of a Science Technician:
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons.
- Support the teaching and learning of science by assisting in practical experiments.
- Maintain and organise the science laboratory, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
- Assist teachers with the development and implementation of science lesson plans.
- Provide technical support during science lessons and demonstrations.
- Monitor and report on the condition of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the laboratory.
Requirements of a Science Technician:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to support science lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
