Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN
Location: Hexham
Salary: £75 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education are currently looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN to join a fantastic school in Hexham. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN, you will be working closely with teachers and students to ensure that every child has the support they need to thrive. Whether you're a recent graduate looking to kickstart your career in education, or you're seeking hands-on experience in a rewarding environment, this role could be perfect for you!

Responsibilities as a Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN:

  • Support SEN students in the classroom, helping them with their learning and development.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting materials to meet individual needs.
  • Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to ensure they stay engaged.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals about student progress.
  • Provide emotional and social support to SEN students as needed.

To be a successful Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN, you need:

  • A recent graduate with a passion for education and working with children.
  • Experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children with special needs.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic school environment.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
