Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £75 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs? GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN to join a welcoming school in Newcastle.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN, you will play a key role in providing support to students with a range of special educational needs, helping them achieve their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in education while making a real difference to students' lives.

Responsibilities as a Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN:

  • Support students with special educational needs in the classroom.
  • Assist teachers in preparing learning materials and resources.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to help students with their individual learning plans.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Assist in managing behaviour and ensuring students remain engaged.

To be a successful Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN, you need:

  • A degree in any discipline.
  • A passion for working with children, especially those with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Previous experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to obtain one).
