Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the Role:

This role will see you working closely with teachers and SEN specialists to provide effective classroom and pastoral support for students with complex learning profiles. You will assist in removing barriers to learning while promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and encouragement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide structured support to students across all key stages, focusing on engagement and progress.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional support techniques.
  • Liaise with the SENCo to maintain individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a classroom culture that nurtures empathy, patience, and positivity.
  • Deliver progress reports and observations for evaluation purposes.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and child protection responsibilities are upheld.
  • Maintain records of student progress and contribute to individual learning plans (ILPs).

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in an educational or care setting.
  • A solid understanding of conditions such as autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with students, staff and parents.
  • A positive and adaptable approach to working with diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures in education.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
