Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), Basingstoke – Hampshire

Join a vibrant secondary school in Basingstoke as a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – starting Immediately with a salary of £21,000 to £25,000 per year, depending on experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and motivated individual to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a welcoming and inclusive school environment. A permanent contract is available following a successful probation period, with opportunities for salary progression as you gain experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored support strategies.
  • Encourage student engagement, emotional well-being, and independence both in and out of the classroom.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and self-esteem.
  • Support the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN in an educational setting is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young people.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
