Role: SEN Teaching Support
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start: After Easter 2025 or September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Part-time available for the right candidate)

This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing you with the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students in a mainstream primary setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with various SEN needs, ensuring they have access to a meaningful and inclusive education.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities to meet the needs of students with SEN, both individually and in small groups.
- Support students in their academic and personal development, helping them to achieve their full potential.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment where students can thrive.
- Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other teaching staff to develop and implement strategies for student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and staff.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, especially in a primary school setting.
- Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with additional needs.
- Ability to provide individualised support and adjust approaches to meet the needs of different students.
- Good communication skills, both with students and staff, and a team-orientated mindset.
- Ability to work effectively under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- A proactive attitude, patience, and a strong commitment to the well-being of the children.
- Relevant qualifications in education or child development would be advantageous, but not essential.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
