Job Title: Substitute Teacher
Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Salary: £94 - £140 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: After Easter 2025 or September 2025
Contract: Full-time, permanent (part-time can also be arranged for the right candidate)

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join a mainstream primary school in Christchurch, Dorset.

About the Role:
As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring the smooth running of the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher. Your role will involve maintaining classroom discipline, ensuring students stay on task, and providing continuous support to ensure their learning experience remains uninterrupted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons to primary school students.
- Maintaining classroom discipline and creating a positive, focused learning environment.
- Providing one-on-one or group support to students as required.
- Adapting lessons to meet students' individual learning needs.
- Recording students' progress and providing feedback where necessary.
- Ensuring smooth transitions back to the regular teacher and assisting with any follow-up actions.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is a must.
- Proven experience in primary education, with the ability to teach across multiple subjects.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Adaptability to different teaching styles and school settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
