GSL Education are inviting applications for a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Scunthorpe. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a nurturing and engaging environment.

About the Role:

As a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers to provide essential support in the classroom, helping to create a positive learning experience for pupils. You will assist with lesson delivery, engage with small groups and individuals, and help to maintain a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support across different primary year groups.
  • Assist with lesson delivery, ensuring all students remain engaged and motivated.
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to provide additional academic support.
  • Help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with behaviour management strategies when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to meet student needs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting (preferred).
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with children, with a nurturing and patient approach.
  • A strong understanding of child development and primary education.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, supporting the overall success of the class.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
