As an ECT, you will bring fresh energy and innovative ideas to the classroom while building on your training. You will work alongside experienced educators, delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of an Early Career Teacher (ECT):
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assess, track, and provide feedback on student progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning.
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
Requirements of an Early Career Teacher (ECT):
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- PGCE with a subject specialism in secondary education.
- Completion of at least two training placements (with mandatory reference checks).
- Strong classroom management skills and adaptability.
- A genuine passion for education and inspiring young learners.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
