Job Title: Psychology Graduates – Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Hull
Salary: £84 - £97 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: May 2025

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education? Do you want to apply your knowledge of mental health, behaviour, and learning in a practical school setting? This is an excellent opportunity in Hull to step into a Teaching Assistant role, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH), and learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities of Psychology Graduates – Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning strategies and behaviour interventions.
- Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, and classroom engagement.
- Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral teams to implement individual support plans.
- Use your psychology background to help understand and address learning barriers.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- A Psychology degree (or relevant field)—recent graduates are encouraged to apply!
- An interest in education, child development, and mental health.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
