Job Title: Teaching Assistant- Social Emotional Mental Health
Location: Redditch
Full-Time / Long Term to become Permanent
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Secondary SEMH School to support them with their Long Term and Perm Staffing.
About the School: The school caters for Children aged across Primary and Secondary phases with Autism, Complex Needs, SEMH, Attachment Disorder, Speech and Language Difficulties, Non-Verbal, Challenging Behaviour and LAC.
- Responsibilities:
As a 1:1 TA your responsibilities include encouraging concentration in lessons, managing behaviour and to enhance pupil attainment levels. - You will also be required to support on a 1:1/ small group as well as whole class basis.
- You will also be required to deliver Behaviour, Numeracy, Literacy and Social Interventions. This will be on a 1:1 and group basis.
- You will be required to support the class teacher to plan and assess pupil progress and develop creative displays to showcase the children’s work.
- You will need to ensure that children are safeguarded at all times by running risk assessments before school starts and when school finishes.
Qualified teaching assistants, graduates and fully qualified teachers looking for TA/ LSA work are encouraged to apply.
Applicants with additional skills including (but not limited to) Makaton, Team Teach, PECS, and British Sign Language are extremely sought after.
Experienced TAs/LSAs, support workers, security/ children's secure provision practitioners, ex prison service officers, as well as sports coaches will be considered for this role.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
