Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA) with a sports background to join a school in Scunthorpe. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and using sport and physical education to support learning, behaviour, and well-being.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant with a sports background, you will support students both in the classroom and during sports activities, encouraging them to stay active, engaged, and motivated. You will play a key role in helping children develop their confidence, teamwork skills, and positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons, incorporating movement and active learning where possible.
- Lead or support sports and physical activities to help improve students' engagement.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students who need extra motivation or behavioural guidance.
- Encourage students to develop teamwork, resilience, and discipline through sport.
- Help manage behaviour and emotional well-being, using sport as a tool for engagement.
- Support PE lessons and extra-curricular sports clubs.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A sports coaching background or experience working with young people in a sports environment.
- Passion for physical education, fitness, and promoting an active lifestyle.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to motivate students.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A relevant qualification in sports coaching, PE, education, or childcare (desirable but not essential).
- A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
