GSL Education are seeking a motivated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Wareham. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children, helping them gain confidence and achieve their potential in the classroom.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers to support students' learning and development. Whether assisting in whole-class activities, providing 1:1 support, or helping with small group work, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities of TA:
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and structured lessons.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students who need extra help.
- Support children with reading, writing, numeracy, and social skills.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff.
- Help to create an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents where necessary.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children in schools, childcare, or educational settings.
- A patient and encouraging approach to learning support.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or support work (desirable but not essential).
- A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
