Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a supportive and inclusive school in Winchester. This role is perfect for individuals who are compassionate, patient, and eager to make a difference in children’s lives.

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure that students with SEN receive the guidance they need to succeed. You will help create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where all students feel valued.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Support students with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties.
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans to help students achieve their goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to enhance student engagement and progress.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help implement behaviour management strategies and promote student well-being.
  • Monitor and record student progress, sharing updates with teachers and parents.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Experience working with SEN students or relevant training is preferred.
  • A passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
