Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Basingstoke
Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a committed and caring SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Basingstoke. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, empathetic, and eager to support students in their learning and development.

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students with additional needs to engage in learning. You will work closely with teachers, providing one-on-one and small group support, ensuring that every child receives the individual attention they require to succeed.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Support students with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support student progress.
  • Provide classroom support to ensure an inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Encourage student independence and confidence in their learning journey.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a safe and supportive atmosphere.
  • Monitor and document student progress, communicating updates to teachers and parents.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
