Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnet
Salary: £90 to £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education is seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a special school in Barnet. This is an exciting opportunity to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and make a real difference in their educational journey. Prior experience in an SEMH setting is preferable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH and moderate learning needs.
  • Assist in managing and supporting students with behavioural challenges.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning strategies.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and a supportive approach to working with children.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
