SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Dorchester
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start date: Immediate
Contract type: Full Time/Part time
GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant
to join a wonderful co-educational client school in Dorchester immediately.

Roles and Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Assisting teachers in conducting classes and managing class environment.
- Following the school’s behaviour management policy to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all.
- Assisting relevant subject teachers in handling student behaviour.
- Supporting pupils with additional needs, such as SEMH, ASC, MLD and ADHD.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning and review of student support plans.
- Providing support to students on a 1:1 basis or small groups upon requirement.
Qualifications for a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or other relevant degrees.
- Relevant experiences or training in special education.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of learners
