Job Title: Behaviour Support Teacher
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent/Full-time
GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Teacher to join a positive and nurturing school in Bournemouth. This is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students who need additional behavioural guidance within the classroom. Your teaching and support will help students manage their emotions, develop positive behaviours, and access learning with confidence. You will work closely with other teachers and staff to create an environment where every student feels safe, supported, and ready to thrive.
What You’ll Do Each Day:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students who need extra behavioural and emotional support.
- Plan and deliver lessons that are calm, engaging, and promote positive behaviours.
- Provide support and interventions for students when they feel overwhelmed.
- Create a classroom environment that supports all learners, including those who face challenges.
- Be actively involved in all areas of school life, ensuring every student feels included and valued.
- Track and celebrate student progress, both academically and behaviourally.
- Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing school environment.
What You’ll Bring:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with students who display behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
- A warm, positive attitude and a strong belief in every student’s potential.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and respond with care and flexibility.
- A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and parents.
- A clear, up-to-date CV (covering the last 10 years with every gaps explained) and either an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or readiness to apply for one.
