Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are currently recruiting a Special Education Support Worker to support students in schools located in Bovington.
This rewarding position involves working closely with children who require extra guidance, helping them access the curriculum and succeed both academically and emotionally. You’ll be working alongside dedicated teaching staff and specialists to ensure every student receives the tailored support they deserve.
As a Special Education Support Worker, your responsibilities will be:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs.
- Help to adapt learning materials and teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Foster a safe, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment.
- Support classroom management and reinforce positive behaviour strategies.
- Work with teaching staff to track student progress and adjust support accordingly.
- Build positive, professional relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Encourage independence while offering consistent, structured guidance.
Special Education Support Worker Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Support Worker with SEN pupils.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not essential).
- A degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field.
- A nurturing, resilient, and adaptable approach.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- An understanding of various special educational needs and how they impact learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
To thrive in this role, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
