Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: High Peak
Salary: £100 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are delighted to invite applications for a Secondary Teaching Assistant position at a vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in High Peak.
As a Secondary TA, you will work alongside a dedicated teaching team to support pupils aged 11–16 in accessing learning, managing classroom routines, and building the confidence they need to thrive academically and socially. Your presence will be pivotal in helping students develop a positive attitude towards school and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in classroom instruction across various subjects, reinforcing teacher-led learning.
- Deliver targeted interventions for pupils who need extra academic or behavioural support.
- Promote an inclusive classroom culture where every student feels valued and supported.
- Support students with special educational needs and adapt learning materials accordingly.
- Monitor pupil progress and report observations to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Help manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and practices.
- Foster respectful, constructive relationships with students and staff alike.
- Support school-wide activities, enrichment programmes, or lunchtime duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a supportive nature are key to this role.
- Ability to follow teacher guidance while also showing initiative.
- A genuine enthusiasm for helping students progress and a strong work ethic.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
