SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southgate, Enfield
Salary: £95 - £105 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Working Hours: 8:30 am – 3:15 pm
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Southgate, Enfield. This full-time, long-term position offers an immediate start and the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.
As an SEN TA, you will play a vital role in helping students access learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to provide personalised support to students with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated, reliable, and eager to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.
SEN TA Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN across all Key Stages
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Promote a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment
- Help students manage their behaviour and develop social skills
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress
- Support students with personal care, if required
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning and daily activities
- Prepare learning resources and adapt materials to meet individual needs
- Record observations and contribute to student progress reviews
- Uphold the school’s values and commitment to inclusive education
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant role:
- Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar
- CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare
- A degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling, Education or a similar field
- Good spoken and written English
- A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach
- Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Willingness to support students with personal care, where necessary
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
- Right to work in the UK
