PE Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S9)
Salary: £155 - £220 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time (Temporary to Permanent option)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Sheffield from September 2025. This full-time position has the potential to lead to a permanent placement for the right candidate.
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering an inclusive, varied, and high-energy PE curriculum that encourages all students to enjoy sports, develop physical literacy, and adopt active lifestyles. Whether coaching football, organising athletics, or leading team-building exercises, you will have the opportunity to foster a positive sporting culture and support the holistic development of your students.
This role suits a sports-minded teacher who brings enthusiasm, discipline, and creativity to every lesson and is eager to work collaboratively with a committed staff team.
Physical Education (PE) Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality PE lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
- Promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles through engaging instruction
- Organise and lead extracurricular sports clubs, interschool competitions, and sports days
- Coach and support students in a variety of team and individual sports, including football, athletics, rugby, netball, and more
- Adapt lessons to suit a wide range of fitness levels, abilities, and interests
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all sporting activities
- Track student progress and provide clear feedback to encourage development
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and resilience through sporting experiences
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver cross-curricular initiatives related to physical health and wellbeing
- Maintain equipment and oversee the safe use of facilities
Requirements for a PE Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant PE teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE in Physical Education)
- Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field
- Experience coaching and teaching PE at the secondary level
- Strong knowledge of the national PE curriculum and current trends in physical education
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and motivational skills
- Sports coaching experience across UK sports disciplines preferred but not mandatory.
- A commitment to promoting student wellbeing through physical activity
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
