Job Title: Specialist SEN Primary Teaching Assistant

Salary: £100 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a Specialist SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to join a caring, creative, and community-driven school in High Peak. The Successful Candidate Will:
- Be a steady hand and kind guide for pupils with diverse needs, including autism, ADHD, and communication challenges.
- Bring learning to life with one-to-one and small group sessions, carefully tailored to each student's unique education plan.
- Collaborate with class teachers to help shape inclusive, accessible lessons that every pupil can take part in and enjoy.
- Champion emotional wellbeing — offer encouragement, empathy, and a calm presence to help students grow socially and confidently.
- Lend a hand with personal care when needed, always promoting dignity and fostering independence along the way.
- Use your driving skills to take learning beyond the classroom — from life-skills trips to hands-on experiences that build real-world confidence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience supporting SEN pupils in primary settings.
- Confident working with needs like autism, ADHD, and speech or emotional challenges.
- Skilled in one-to-one and group support, with flexible teaching approaches.
- Calm, caring, and passionate about helping children thrive.
- Able to manage behaviour positively and constructively.
- Great communicator with staff, families, and professionals.
- Adaptable across varied learning environments.
- Comfortable assisting with personal care if needed.
- A full UK driving licence is essential for off-site learning.
- SEN or education qualifications welcome but not required.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
