Full-Time Drama/Performing Arts Teacher – Southampton, Hampshire

Are you a passionate Drama/Performing Arts teacher looking for your next exciting opportunity? GSL Education are thrilled to offer a full-time Drama/Performing Arts Teacher position at a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Southampton. The role is set to start in September 2025 and offers an annual salary between £30,000 and £50,000, depending on experience.

This role offers a smooth transition with school tours available before the interview, allowing you to familiarise yourself with your future teaching environment. The school is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators, providing a welcoming space for all.

Responsibilities of the Drama/Performing Arts Teacher:

  • Deliver high-quality and engaging Drama and Performing Arts lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Foster creativity, collaboration, and confidence in students through performance and expression.
  • Plan and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and individual student needs.
  • Lead or support extracurricular productions, workshops, and school performances.
  • Encourage a respectful, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment.

Requirements of the Drama/Performing Arts Teacher:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent).
  • Specialism or experience in Drama, Theatre Studies, or Performing Arts.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a flair for engaging lesson delivery.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A genuine passion for the arts and a desire to nurture young talent.
  • Open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and seasoned educators.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
