Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about creating a positive, accessible learning environment for pupils with additional needs.
About the Role:
The SEN Teaching Assistant will work alongside class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupils with a range of special educational needs including autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges. You will play a key role in helping these pupils feel safe, supported, and confident to succeed both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to the specific learning needs of pupils.
- Implement and adapt EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
- Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and engagement with learning.
- Support pupils in constructively managing their emotions and behaviours.
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support.
- Promote an inclusive and respectful classroom culture.
- Contribute to the monitoring and recording of pupil progress and development.
Job Requirements:
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
- Strong understanding of a range of learning difficulties and effective support strategies.
- Empathy, patience, and adaptability in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A relevant qualification such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN-specific training is desirable.
- Familiarity with safeguarding practices and behaviour management techniques.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
