Key Responsibilities
As a Disability Support Assistant in Bournemouth, you'll be a beacon of support and encouragement for students with learning difficulties. Your day-to-day will be filled with meaningful interactions and activities that foster growth and independence. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:
- Personalised Assistance: Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them with daily living activities and personal care, ensuring they feel valued and cared for.
- Community Engagement: Inspire and facilitate participation in community activities and social interactions, helping students build connections and friendships.
- Tailored Care Plans: Implement and creatively adapt individualised care plans to meet the evolving needs of each student, ensuring they receive the best possible support.

- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of the support provided and progress made, sharing insights and updates with team members and family members.

Requirements

- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or in providing care and support to individuals with learning difficulties.
- Passion: A genuine passion for supporting individuals with learning difficulties, with a heart full of empathy and understanding.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and engage with students, families, and colleagues.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic and collaborative team, contributing to a supportive and nurturing environment.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in disability support or healthcare are desirable, showcasing your commitment to professional growth.
