Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Cosham
Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a committed SEN Learning Support to work within a nurturing and inclusive school setting in Cosham. You will assist class teachers in delivering a differentiated curriculum and provide one-to-one or small group support to help students thrive both academically and personally.
About the Role:
As an SEN Learning Support, you will be working closely with students who require additional educational and emotional support, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored learning support to pupils with EHCPs and diagnosed SEN needs.
- Foster a calm, engaging, and inclusive learning environment in line with the school's ethos.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and liaise regularly with teachers and SENCOs.
- Promote social and emotional development through positive reinforcement and behaviour modelling.
- Use a range of strategies, including visual aids, sensory tools, and structured routines, to support learning.
- Support the student’s personal care or mobility requirements where applicable.
- Be an encouraging presence, offering consistent support and praise to build self-esteem and resilience.
Job Requirements:
- A recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or SEND qualification is advantageous.
- Prior experience supporting children or young people with SEN, either in an educational or care setting.
- Confidence in working with children who present with communication barriers, learning difficulties, or behavioural challenges.
- Understanding of safeguarding practices and a commitment to child welfare.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
- Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD, etc.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
