Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Fareham, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience).
Start time: Summer term
Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed-term

GSL Education are currently recruiting a motivated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Fareham. This full-time, fixed-term position is ideal for those who want to make a genuine impact during the Summer Term and beyond.

About the Role:

This Science Teacher role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for KS5 depending on experience. You will be joining a school that places a strong emphasis on STEM education, fosters a love of learning, and prioritises student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire a love for Science in all its disciplines.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, with the flexibility to specialise based on subject strengths.
  • Foster an environment where students are encouraged to question, experiment and explore.
  • Prepare pupils for internal and external assessments through targeted support and scaffolding.
  • Use data to monitor progress and implement interventions where required.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular STEM initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ECT status, or equivalent overseas qualification in education.
  • A degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field).
  • Prior teaching experience in a UK secondary school is desirable.
  • Experienced Teaching Assistants with a science-related degree and substantial classroom experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching for a range of academic abilities and learning needs.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum for Science.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
