Teaching Assistant
Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start Date: Immediate / September 2025 start
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (Part-time available for the right candidate)

Are you interested in supporting students in a mainstream secondary school as a Teaching Assistant?

If so, GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (TA) to support students and teachers in a vibrant and inclusive mainstream school in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

This is an ideal role for someone who is enthusiastic about education, committed to pupil development, and ready to make a positive impact in the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring that all students feel supported and encouraged in their educational journey.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Support students 1:1 and in small groups across various subjects.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Provide support to students with additional needs when required.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure student progress

TA Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting as a Teaching Assistant is preferred.
  • SEN experience is beneficial.
  • CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare.
  • A degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling, Education or similar field.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to support.
  • Understanding of the national curriculum and classroom expectations.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
