Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Wareham
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025/Immediate
Contract Type: Permanent/Full-time

Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Education Needs Teacher looking for a new opportunity in the Wareham area? If so, GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Special Education Needs Teacher to join a friendly and supportive school in Wareham.

In this role, you will deliver personalised and engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of your students. You will create a calm and supportive learning space, promote positive behaviour, and help students develop confidence both in and out of the classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach lessons that are made to fit the needs of students with special needs.
  • Use fun and flexible teaching methods to support different ways of learning.
  • Create a calm and caring classroom where students feel safe and confident.
  • Give steady support to help with behaviour and emotions.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and outside professionals.
  • Talk regularly with parents and carers to keep them informed.
  • Keep track of how students are doing and help with progress meetings and reports.

Requirements:

  • You must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a similar teaching certificate.
  • You should have experience working with children with special needs like Autism, ADHD, or learning challenges.
  • You should enjoy helping all children learn and feel included.
  • Good at managing behaviour and keeping the class organised.
  • Kind, patient, and able to adjust your teaching to meet different needs.
  • A full CV that shows the last 10 years of your work, with no gaps left unexplained.
  • An enhanced DBS that’s on the update service, or be happy to get one.
