Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a positive and nurturing school in Bournemouth. This is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students who need additional behavioural guidance. Your work will help students manage their emotions, develop positive behaviours, and access their education with confidence. You will work closely with teachers and staff to create an environment where every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.

What You’ll Do Each Day:

  • Build good relationships with children who need extra care and support.
  • Help set up activities that are calm, focused, and welcoming for everyone.
  • Step in when students feel overwhelmed, offering gentle guidance and care.
  • Join classroom sessions and make learning easier for those who struggle.
  • Be part of school life — from playtime to trips— making sure all students feel included.
  • Notice small wins, track progress, and share successes with the team.
  • Work with staff to keep the school a kind, safe place for all children to learn and grow.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience working with children who need extra emotional or behavioural help.
  • A warm, positive attitude and a strong belief in every child’s potential.
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and respond with kindness.
  • A team player mindset — ready to share, listen, and adapt.
  • A clear, up-to-date CV (covering the last 10 years) and either an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or readiness to get one.

What You Get in Return:

  • A fair hourly pay that values your skills and effort.
  • A supportive school where you’ll have the tools you need to do your best.
  • Opportunities to learn new things and build your career.
  • A dedicated consultant to guide and support you along the way.
  • A chance to make a real difference in students’ lives every day.
