Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Romsey
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a supportive and welcoming school community in Romsey. This is a fulfilling role for an empathetic and reliable individual who is committed to making a meaningful impact in the classroom.
About the Role:
You will work alongside class teachers and inclusion staff to support students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a hands-on role, requiring adaptability, initiative, and a nurturing attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted support to students in one-to-one and small group settings
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that encourages learning
- Implement EHCP targets and tailored learning strategies
- Encourage emotional wellbeing and help pupils regulate behaviour
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals
- Support with classroom activities, transitions, and break/lunchtime supervision
- Where necessary, provide personal care in line with pupil needs.
Job Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant with neurodiverse students.
- Possess a relevant qualification in Education, SEN, or Child Development (desirable but not essential).
- Demonstrate an understanding of SEN strategies, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and other additional needs.
- Be a compassionate and patient individual, able to provide a nurturing approach to learning.
- Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with staff, students and parents effectively.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
