Job Title: Classroom Teacher
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate or After Summer 2025 start
Contract: Full-time, permanent

GSL Education invite applications for a Classroom Teacher to join a forward-thinking mainstream primary school in Portsmouth, Hampshire. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, with a start date available immediately or after the summer term, making it ideal for experienced teachers or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) seeking a rewarding new role.
Role Overview:
As a Classroom Teacher, you will play a central role in delivering engaging, creative and inclusive lessons across the primary phase. You will be responsible for fostering a stimulating classroom environment, promoting high standards of achievement, and supporting all learners to reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective and well-structured lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
- Differentiate instruction to meet a range of student needs and learning styles.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
- Maintain excellent classroom behaviour and promote a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Use a variety of assessment methods to inform planning and monitor progress.
- Participate in whole-school development, planning, and activities.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential – ECTs are highly encouraged to apply.
- Experience teaching within a primary school setting, ideally Key Stage 1 or 2.
- Good working knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A commitment to inclusion; experience supporting pupils with SEN is advantageous.
- Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
