Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

About the Role:
In this vital classroom-based role, you will provide targeted support to children within a mainstream primary school, helping pupils achieve their learning goals and feel confident in the classroom. Working under the guidance of class teachers and SENCOs, you’ll contribute to a nurturing and engaging environment for all learners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support across a range of subjects and learning activities.
- Assist with small group work and 1:1 support for pupils who may require additional guidance.
- Promote inclusion and help foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Aid in classroom preparation and behaviour management as directed by teaching staff.
- Liaise with teachers and other staff to monitor pupil progress and development.
- Encourage pupils’ personal development, confidence, and independence.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Learning Support, Teaching Assistant, or similar role.
- Understanding of learning difficulties and SEN needs, including Speech and Language Delays, Autism, and ADHD.
- Individuals with experience supporting children in educational or care settings
- University students with a flexible schedule or recent graduates exploring a career in education are warmly encouraged to apply.
- Applicants with SEN knowledge or transferable care/support skills
- Enthusiastic candidates eager to contribute to pupils’ development and wellbeing.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
