Job Title: Primary SEN Support
Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start Date: Immediate / After Summer 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
GSL Education are looking for a kind and reliable Primary SEN Support to join a welcoming primary school in Christchurch. In this role, you’ll help support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), making sure they feel included, understood, and ready to learn. University students interested in education and SEN support are encouraged to apply!
About the Role:
As a Primary SEN Support, you’ll work closely with teachers to give extra help to students with special needs. You will help them feel confident, take part in classroom activities, and grow both academically and socially. Your support will make a real difference, whether you’re working one-on-one or in small groups.
What You Will Do:
- Support students with SEN on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
- Help teachers adjust lessons to meet individual needs.
- Offer emotional and social support to help children manage their day.
- Create a friendly and inclusive learning space for all.
- Encourage good behaviour and help keep the classroom organised.
- Track and share progress with teachers to help students grow.
What’s Needed for This Role:
- A passion for helping children learn and succeed.
- Experience working with children or SEN is helpful but not essential.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, adaptability, and a caring attitude.
- A CV showing the last ten years of experience (with any gaps explained).
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- University students looking for full-time experience are welcome to apply.
