Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Cosham
Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for an SEN Learning Support to work at a welcoming and inclusive educational setting in Cosham, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech and Language Difficulties, ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated support professional to provide individualised learning and emotional assistance to pupils with diverse learning profiles. You will work alongside classroom teachers and SEN specialists to deliver tailored interventions and ensure that every student receives the care, support, and encouragement they need to thrive.
Job Responsibilities:
- Offer one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and behaviour support strategies.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and confidence.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, therapists and parents to ensure consistent support for each learner.
- Help manage behaviour calmly and positively, adapting to the individual needs of pupils.
- Safeguard and prioritise student welfare following school and safeguarding policies.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach to learning support is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of students with SEN.
- The ability to adapt to various situations and respond effectively to the needs of individual students.
- Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
