Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Wendover, Buckinghamshire
Salary: £89 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: Monday 22nd April 2025
Hours: 8:15 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday

We’re looking for a compassionate and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Wendover, working with students aged 11–16 who face Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.
This is more than just a support role—it's a chance to help shape a young person’s future, to be the calm in their storm, and to help them rediscover their confidence and love for learning.
In this role, you will:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs

Build meaningful, trusting relationships that promote emotional stability and engagement

Support pupils through challenging behaviours with empathy and consistency

Work alongside a passionate team of educators, SEN specialists, and support staff

Create a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment where students feel heard
What we’re looking for:

Experience supporting young people in education, care, youth work, or community settings

A calm, patient approach to behaviour and emotional needs

Someone who is emotionally resilient, consistent, and genuinely motivated by helping others

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
