Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Salary: £13.68-£14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)

In the role of a Teaching Assistant (TA), you’ll have the chance to be a real game-changer in a student’s life, helping them flourish both academically and personally. By working one-on-one with a student, you’ll offer the support needed to help them engage fully with lessons and school activities. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Offer one-on-one and small-group support to a designated student, helping with academic tasks and encouraging active participation in classroom activities.
  • Implement personalised strategies and interventions to meet the student’s individual learning needs and objectives.
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that nurtures the student's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Track and document the student’s progress, providing regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant professionals.
  • Assist the class teacher in developing and maintaining Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and bespoke learning programmes.
  • Encourage the student's independence and self-confidence, fostering their active involvement in school activities.
  • Work closely with the wider school team to ensure a coordinated and supportive approach to the student's education.

 Position Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational environment is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of personalised learning techniques and strategies to support a wide range of learning needs.
  • Excellent organisational skills, effective communication, and classroom management abilities, with the capacity to ensure a well-run classroom.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, showing flexibility and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • An up-to-date CV (covering the past ten years, excluding any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willing to apply for one).
