Job Opportunity: Behaviour Mentor / Teaching Assistant – SEMH Support
Location: Hull & East Riding of Yorkshire
Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time
Salary: £89 to £110 a day
GSL Education Hull is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor / Teaching Assistant to work within a vibrant and supportive Alternative Provision in Hull. The school caters for students in Key Stages 3 and 4 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Mentor:

Provide tailored support to students with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs.

Work alongside teaching staff to deliver engaging, accessible lessons.

Promote student confidence, independence, and emotional growth.

Support life skills and vocational learning.

Liaise with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to implement personalised strategies.

Build meaningful relationships with students, families, and the wider school team.
What We’re Looking For in a Behaviour Mentor:

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEMH needs (education, care, or youth work settings).

A nurturing, empathetic, and patient approach.

Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.

A genuine passion for helping young people thrive.

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
