Complex Needs Teaching Assistant – Islington

Location: Islington
Salary: £85 to £110 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Are you a nurturing and resilient individual with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? GSL Education is looking for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Islington.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning and supporting their emotional and academic development.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Providing one-to-one or small group support for students with complex special educational needs.

  • Assisting with personal care, feeding, and mobility support as required.

  • Promoting independence through tailored learning strategies and interventions.

  • Supporting the class teacher in managing challenging behaviours and tracking progress.

  • Creating a nurturing learning environment to meet each child's emotional and educational needs.

You Will Need:

  • Experience working with children or young people with complex or multiple needs (e.g. SEMH, ASD, PMLD).

  • Patience, positivity, and adaptability to changing needs.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to maintain a safe and inclusive classroom.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Willingness to attend training sessions, including Team Teach if needed.
