Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Romsey
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a nurturing and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to work in a supportive school in Romsey. This role is integral to providing tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs, helping them flourish academically and socially.
About the Role:
The role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will be instrumental in helping them access the curriculum and develop both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small-group learning support tailored to student needs.
- Assist in creating and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
- Support students with communication, sensory regulation, and social interaction.
- Help manage classroom behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Work closely with specialist therapists and SENCOs to adapt learning approaches.
- Ensure students have a safe and structured learning environment.
- Support students in developing self-confidence and independence.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in an SEN or mainstream educational setting (desirable).
- Relevant TA qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Understanding of various Special Educational Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc.
- Patience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting students' growth.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
