Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Hedge End
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are welcoming applications for the position of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support pupils at a nurturing school in Hedge End. This is a rewarding role where you will make a real difference in the lives of students, providing essential support within a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will be supporting children with a wide range of special educational needs. Working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO, you will help deliver an inclusive and safe learning environment where every child can thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Offer one-to-one or small group support to pupils, tailored to their specific learning and behavioural requirements.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities in line with EHCP targets.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils to support their emotional well-being and classroom engagement.
- Provide pastoral care and help manage behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.
- Contribute to daily observations and assist in the review of individual progress.
- Work closely with teaching staff, external professionals, and families to ensure a holistic support system for each pupil.
Job Requirements:
- Experience working in a school or with children/young people with SEN is highly preferred.
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A calm, understanding, and adaptable approach to support varied learning styles.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
