Salary: £88.94 - £104.84 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: After Easter 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and caring Autism Specialist Graduate to join a supportive school community in Scunthorpe. This is a meaningful opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong interest in autism, psychology, or special education to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a school setting.
As an Autism Specialist Graduate, you will play an important role in helping students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) manage everyday challenges and make progress both in their learning and personal development. Your support will help students feel valued, included, and more confident in themselves.
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, and truly wants to make a difference in the lives of young people.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with autism.
- Help students manage social, emotional, and academic challenges.
- Work closely with teachers to deliver personalised support plans.
- Encourage a calm, safe, and positive learning environment.
- Support students in developing communication and life skills.
- Track progress and adjust support as needed to suit individual needs.
Requirements of the role:
- A degree in Psychology, Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- A genuine interest in working with children and young people with autism.
- Kindness, patience, and the ability to adapt to different situations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- A fully updated CV (covering the last 10 years with explanations for any gaps).
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
