Full – Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Basingstoke, Hampshire

GSL Education are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at a secondary school in Basingstoke. This rewarding role offers an annual salary between £17,500 and £19,500, giving you the chance to positively impact students' learning experiences. The position is set to begin immediately, or once the successful candidate completes their notice period. If you're a compassionate and resilient individual, eager to provide both in-class and small group support, this role is the perfect fit for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer immediate on-call support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs throughout the school.
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external specialists to create and deliver effective interventions.
  • Assist in de-escalating challenging situations while providing one-on-one emotional support to students.
  • Cultivate a safe, inclusive space that encourages resilience, boosts self-esteem, and supports positive behaviour.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of welfare incidents and track student progress.

Requirements:

  • Display resilience and patience while assisting students with diverse needs, including those with EHCPs.
  • Experience in a similar role or working with children in an educational or support environment is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • A true passion for supporting students in overcoming learning challenges and reaching their full potential.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
