Full – Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Southampton, Hampshire

GSL Education are thrilled to offer a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role at a secondary school in Southampton. This vital role comes with an annual salary range of £17,500 to £19,500, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives. The role is due to start immediately or as soon as the successful candidate completes their notice period. This position is ideal for a compassionate, resilient individual eager to support students both in class and through small group interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and ensuring that all students are fully engaged and supported.
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group interventions to help students make progress in their learning.
- Work closely with students with EHCPs, ensuring they have the necessary support to access the curriculum.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that promotes the academic and emotional growth of all students.
- Be flexible in working across various year groups, adapting your approach to the needs of the students.
Requirements:
- A resilient and patient approach when supporting students with varying needs, including those with EHCPs.
- Previous experience in a similar role or working with children in an educational or support setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
