Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary Range: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start Time: May 2025 / Summer 2025
Contract: Full-time, Permanent / Fixed-term

GSL Education are excited to be recruiting for a Science Teacher to join a mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth.
About the Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love for science in your students. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and contribute to the wider school community. This role is ideal for both experienced teachers and those new to the profession, including Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and overseas-trained teachers.
Responsibilities for a Science Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices.
- Support students' academic and personal development.
- Participate in departmental and whole-school activities and initiatives.
Requirements of a Science Teacher:
- Qualified and Experienced: Qualified Teaching Status (QTS), Early Career Teacher (ECT), or equivalent certification. Experienced Teaching Assistants (TAs) are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong subject knowledge in science and the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
