Full – Time SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) – Basingstoke, Hampshire

GSL Education are offering a fantastic opportunity for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant role at a supportive secondary school in Basingstoke. Starting immediately, this position comes with a full-time role, a rewarding annual salary between £17,500 and £19,000 (based on experience), along with clear opportunities to advance as you gain further expertise—perfect for those with a caring nature and a background in inclusive environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a specialist resource base, supporting students with EHCPs related to Autism, Learning Difficulties, and Speech & Language challenges.
  • Deliver personalised support through one-to-one and small group sessions, helping students access learning in a calm and supportive setting.
  • Partner with teaching staff and SEN professionals to follow tailored education plans and modify resources to suit individual needs.
  • Encourage emotional resilience and independence by fostering a positive, patient, and consistent approach.
  • Help design and lead inclusive, engaging activities that promote progress and participation across a range of abilities.

Requirements:

  • Candidates from the care sector with transferable skills in supporting children with SEN or physical disabilities are warmly encouraged to apply.

  • Proactive team players with strong communication skills.
  • Dedicated to supporting inclusive and meaningful learning experiences.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
