Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Hull
Salary: £99 - £115 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join schools in Hull.
About the role:
In this role, you will support the class teacher in delivering lessons, assist in the management of the classroom, and work with students to ensure they achieve their full potential. You will be involved in both small group and whole class support, helping to raise student attainment and providing a positive, nurturing environment.
Responsibilities of an HLTA:
- Support the delivery of lessons and assist in classroom management.
- Provide targeted support to students, particularly those who require additional assistance.
- Assist in planning and preparing lessons, resources, and activities.
- Work with students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis to support their academic progress.
- Help assess and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Promote positive behaviour and assist in managing classroom behaviour effectively.
- Work with teachers to develop individualised learning plans for students.
- Lead intervention groups and support students with specific learning needs.
- Offer pastoral care and support for students' emotional and social development.
- Collaborate with other support staff and teachers to ensure a coordinated approach to student progress.
Qualifications for the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant:
- Experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
- A Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (HLTA) or equivalent (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and teaching practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
- A positive and proactive approach to supporting students in their learning.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or the willingness to apply for a new check.
